La Chambre de Madame Pompadour

La Chambre Madame de Pompadour
Elegance, Grace & Timeless French Style
Inspired by the elegance and artistic legacy of Madame de Pompadour, one of the most celebrated figures of 18th-century France, La Chambre de Madame de Pompadour offers an intimate retreat within our historic Creuse home. The room evokes the romance of 19th-century France, centred around an imposing European double-size Napoléon III carved bed in the Louis XV/Rococo Revival style (c. 1860–1885), complemented by a late-19th-century Louis XV Revival armoire (c. 1880–1900) and other genuine period furnishings. A memory-foam mattress adds modern comfort without sacrificing the room’s distinctly historic character.
The room is air-conditioned and accommodates a maximum of two guests, making it particularly suited to couples or solo travellers. It shares a spacious guest bathroom, fully modernized in 2026 with a rain shower and contemporary amenities. Throughout their stay, guests are invited to enjoy the shared spaces of the house, including the dining rooms, living room and library, and garden, offering plenty of places to relax beyond the bedroom itself.
A complimentary homemade breakfast, bed linens, towels and fibre-optic Wi-Fi are included with every stay. Guests can also enhance their visit with our Table d’Hôtes dining options, romantic extras and additional services, combining the atmosphere of an authentic French chambres d’hôtes with the comforts expected by today’s traveller.
